Pottery Spoon Rest

Pottery Spoon Rest
A beautifully made pottery spoon rest, wheel thrown and hand glazed in Bethan's pottery studio. Lovely coloured glazes to mix and match and brighten up your day!
Suitable for the dishwasher.
Making process:
All of my pottery is handmade on my rural farm studio, just outside of Exeter, Devon in the southwest of England. I use a white, high-fire stoneware clay.
Firstly, the body of the pot is thrown on the wheel using the white clay. After a couple of days (weather dependent), the clay will have dried to a “leather-hard” state and can be turned and the butter dish knob is thrown on the pot.
Once the piece is “bone dry” (this is called “greenware”) it is fired to 1000 degrees Celsius. The piece is dipped in my own handmade glazes and fired to 1270 degrees Celsius in my electric kiln.
